Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia

     Two employees of the organization " Russia Inland": Dr. Olga Haritonova and nurse Jennifer Carson lead Ultrasound examination of local people. Approximately 60 people had a chance to get survey of their a belly cavity (a liver, bilious bubble, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen), thyroid gland, mammary glands, gynecology.

After examination, the patients whose diseases were revealed had conversations with the doctor about right nutrition and about the further examination, that would be necessary to complete the diagnosis.  This service was

done for the adults.

And the younger generation was not forgotten. At school #36, in Vladikavkaz lectures were given separately to boys

and girls along with Presentation on themes: " Hygiene of the teenage period ", " To be obedient, means to be healthy ", regarding the period of their growing.

In the facility of "North-Ossetian Mission of Christian compassion" lectures on themes - the social disease caused social and economic conditions (alcoholism, a drug addiction, smoking, a tuberculosis, a HIV - an infection) were presented. The information caused a big interest in discussion of the given theme. Teenagers, those among children coming as volunteers for work in mission, many of then smoke and this information was very important for them.

Children were telling that it is impossible to discuss passively friends'bad behavior and that it is necessary to do something: show posters about harm of smoking, to tell about

consequences. It was very interesting for them to find out information on other diseases.

As the children listened to our presentation, they began to realize for the first time that many of their friends may need extra attention and fellowship Considering results of the lectures at theschool, during discussion with the director of studies, there was a request to continue preventive training in the senior classes on themes teenage growing.

In the mission there is a desire to continue the preventive work, directed toward preventive maintenance of a healthy way of life among teenagers, for those both who attend and do not attend church.
