Vanya, as we open his Stocking together

Dear Friends,

Joy and happiness literally exploded across little Vanya’s face as he discovered the contents of his green stocking last Christmas. His little body trembled with excitement as I helped him page through his new children’s Bible.

Vanya is just one of more than 5,000 needy and hurting children who received SOAR’s “Stuff a Stocking” gifts and Bibles last year. Our distribution teams reached children in orphanages, women’s and children’s prisons, and handicap institutions as well as many who are living on the streets. One group of children we found, live down a manhole under the street! Our distribution teams shared the wonderful news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with these children.

With the stocking contents and Bibles totally purchased and assembled in Russia, we bypassed all of the difficult steps that we have dealt with in the past when we imported Christmas gifts as “humanitarian aid.” We eliminated the expense of shipping, the hours and frustration of dealing with the bureaucracy and the corruption of Russian customs where many gifts never reached the children. The “Stuff a Stocking” project is viewed in Russia as a truly Russian gift program rather than humanitarian aid from another country.

This Christmas would you like to make a difference in the life of an orphan or a child who lives on the streets in Russia? Join us in bringing hope and joy to hurting Russian children this year as we share Christ’s love through SOAR’s “Stuff a Stocking” project. Please consider how you can be a part of touching the life of a child for eternity!

Serving together,

Richard L. Page
